SCORE Announces Partnership with National Football League Players Association
WASHINGTON, Nov. 29, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SCORE, – www.score.org - mentors to America's small businesses, is excited to announce a partnership with the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA). With the common understanding of small business being a powerful economic engine, SCORE and the NFLPA have joined together to nurture the entrepreneurial aspirations of former and current NFL players. Upon their departure from the NFL, many players seek new forms of income, and small business ownership can be an exciting and valuable challenge. As it regularly does for American entrepreneurs, SCORE will utilize its network of 13,000 volunteer small business mentors so NFL players will have access to free mentoring, tailored workshops and expert resources. SCORE and the NFLPA will also present webinars specifically designed to address the challenges NFL players face.
"The NFL Players Association's current and former players are excited about the opportunity to partner with SCORE," said Nolan Harrison, NFLPA Senior Director of Former Player Services. "Through this partnership, our men will receive first-class small business and entrepreneurial coaching and mentoring, which will allow them to achieve as high a level of success off the field as they have achieved on the field."
"SCORE is thrilled to work with the NFLPA," said SCORE CEO Ken Yancey. "Preparing NFL players for small business ownership is an honor for our organization. Harnessing the intelligence, drive, and commitment to excellence these players demonstrated on the football field, SCORE mentors are excited to help them reach their goals in the realm of small business."
