Scope AR Secures $2 Million in Seed Funding to Accelerate Augmented Reality Adoption Among a Growing Industry
Company will further scale its smart instruction creation platform and live support video calling tool, allowing users to become their own experts wherever they are
SAN FRANCISCO, July 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Scope AR, the creator of the first-ever true augmented reality smart instructions and live support video calling solutions, today announced it has raised $2M in seed funding. With participation from investors that include Susa Ventures, Presence Capital Fund and New Stack Ventures, the funding will primarily be used to further accelerate and scale the company's products – WorkLink and Remote AR – as well as expand its sales and support teams in the U.S., as well as internationally.
"It's an exciting time in the industry as technology platforms are quickly democratizing the use of AR - empowering organizations to easily create AR instructional content and change how they approach employee training and collaboration," said Scott Montgomerie, CEO and co-founder of Scope AR. "As a result, the timeline in which augmented reality becomes more mainstream -- expanding beyond industrial use to consumer applications -- is rapidly shrinking, and we're looking forward to continuing to innovate our products to help lead the way in bringing live, ready-to-use AR solutions to the market."
Scope AR is revolutionizing video collaboration, procedural documentation and step-by-step instruction through the use of augmented reality for industrial applications. Leading enterprises such as Boeing, Toyota and Lockheed Martin are using the company's solutions to reduce downtime, lower costs, scale employees' expertise and improve knowledge retention.
"In a world where a doctor can perform telesurgery from hundreds of miles away, it makes no sense that a cooling system expert or airline engineer has to spend hours or even days traveling to a distant site to fix a simple equipment issue," said Leo Polovets, partner at Susa Ventures. "Scope AR's products enable an expert to share their knowledge with remote technicians without having to leave their desk, and are already being used for dozens of critical applications. They are the clear leader in the space and we've been impressed with their vision for how AR can be used to solve complex problems within an industrial context and beyond."
