SCM World Appoints Kevin O'Marah as Chief Content Officer and Member of the Management Board

SCM World, the leading global community and think-tank for senior level supply chain executives, has appointed Kevin O'Marah as Chief Content Officer and Member of the Board. The new role will support the ongoing growth and ambitious business strategy of the company.
O'Marah will report to Co-CEO Oliver Sloane and have global responsibility for content creation, research and event production. Kevin will also jointly chair the SCM World Executive Advisory Board (EAB), alongside Dr Hau Lee of Stanford University, which is a small and exclusive group of the most influential global supply chain and operations leaders from across industry. The EAB serves to debate and direct the content architecture for SCM World and promote the discipline of supply chain management as a profession. Members of the EAB are board-level global executives from the world's leading companies including Nike, Starbucks, Microsoft, Land O Lakes, AT&T, General Mills, Merck, Cisco, Barnes&Noble, Dyson, Lenovo, Unilever & Seagate.

Having started work as a 17-year-old shipper/receiver for a small retail chain, O'Marah is a life-long student of supply chain. Most recently he served as GVP for Supply Chain at Gartner following the 2009 acquisition of AMR Research where he was Chief Strategy Officer. His ten-year career at AMR included the creation of the Supply Chain Top 25 and producing the Supply Chain Executive Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona from 2005-2011. Under the banner "Supply Chain Saves the World," Kevin published a well-received book and led a six-year dialog with supply chain leaders and such luminaries as Bill Clinton, Colin Powell, Michael Eisner, and T. Boone Pickens. During his tenure at AMR O'Marah published over 400 articles and reports detailing disciplines like Demand Driven Supply Networks and Product Lifecycle Management. His bylined research has also appeared in publications including the Financial Times, Business Week, Forbes, HBR's Supply Chain Strategy, and Supply Chain Management Review. A frequent guest for broadcast media, O'Marah has appeared in studio on CNBC's Squawk Box and Executive View as well as numerous guest spots for NPR, Bloomberg, Australian Broadcasting Company and many more.
He holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from Boston College, an MSc in Management Studies from Oxford University, and a Masters in Business Administration from Stanford University, where he is currently a Senior Research Fellow.
