SciQuest Appoints Director of Procurement Strategies
Industry Veteran Judith Smith Tapped to Develop Products and Services that will Empower SciQuest Customers with Even Greater Savings and Efficiencies from their Procurement Initiatives

Smith as director of procurement strategies. In her new role, Smith will work closely with customers, suppliers and SciQuest senior management to develop new services and products that will address the growing opportunities for procurement organizations to drive unprecedented savings and efficiencies.

Smith brings extensive experience in purchasing best practices to SciQuest. Most recently, she served as the director of procurement services at the University of Michigan, where she was accountable for procurement spending in excess of $1.7 billion. Smith also led the deployment of SciQuest in previously-held positions at the University and served in a variety of strategic-sourcing capacities, including an interim role as associate hospital director of supply chain management for the University of Michigan's hospital and health centers.
Prior to joining the University of Michigan in 2000, Smith served as a manager in Cap Gemini Ernst & Young's Business Transformation and Supply Chain Management practices where she managed and developed supply chain initiatives that delivered process efficiencies and savings for several large multi-hospital systems. She also served as lieutenant and deputy head, acquisitions, for the United States Navy's Naval Medical Center in San Diego. Smith is a graduate of Michigan State University and has a master's degree in healthcare administration from the University of Detroit Mercy.
