Scientific Games Announces Senior Executive Appointments and Realigned Responsibilities for Senior Members of Business Units
NEW YORK, Jan. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Scientific Games Corporation (Nasdaq: SGMS) today announced senior executive appointments and the realignment of certain responsibilities among existing senior members of its management team. These changes are intended to further strengthen Scientific Games' global management team, integrate core functions in each of its business units, and enhance the Company's execution capabilities on its growth initiatives.
- William J. Huntley has rejoined Scientific Games as President, Lottery Systems, and will be responsible for U.S. Lottery Systems, European Lottery Systems, and Video Gaming. Mr. Huntley has extensive experience in all aspects of the lottery and gaming businesses, including sales, marketing, research and development, and manufacturing. He was with Scientific Games and its predecessor company for 37 years, including serving as President of Lottery Systems from 2000 to 2006, and President of SG Racing, Sports and Gaming Technology from 2006 to 2007. More recently, he has provided consulting services for several of the Company's key business development initiatives.
- Michael P. Conforti has joined Scientific Games as Vice President of International Business Development and Government Relations. Mr. Conforti has significant experience in business development, operations and public/government affairs. He has been a consultant to Scientific Games for more than five years and most recently played an important role in the development of the Company's China business. Prior to providing Scientific Games with consulting services, Mr. Conforti spent five years with GTECH Corporation as its Vice President of International Business Development, which included responsibility for government relations and Asian operations.
The following Scientific Games' executives have taken on additional responsibilities:
- James B. Trask has been named President, Printed Products Group, and will be responsible for global instant ticket sales and operations. He will continue to oversee the Company's printing plants and network of cooperative service programs in the U.S. and Europe, and will also be responsible for North America sales, creative services, customer service, and product development. Mr. Trask has been with Scientific Games since 2002 and has over 33 years of experience in the lottery and gaming industries.
- Steven Beason has been named Enterprise Chief Technology Officer and will be responsible for global technology across each of the Company's business units. His expansive gaming and technology background includes over 25 years of relevant industry experience. He will focus on driving innovations in the Company's product offerings.
- James C. Kennedy, Jr. has been named Chief Marketing Officer and will be responsible for global marketing across the Company's lottery businesses. He has 25 years of experience in the lottery and gaming industries, having worked for Scientific Games since 1985. Among other initiatives, Mr. Kennedy and his team will focus on developing avenues to increase playership through expanded distribution channels, point of sale merchandising, and retailer training.
Steve Frater, Executive Chairman, Global Draw and Games Media, and Steve Saferin, President, Properties Group, will remain in their current roles.
All of these executives will report to A. Lorne Weil, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Scientific Games. The management changes are effective immediately.
