Halter served as Lieutenant Governor of Arkansas from 2007-2011. Previously, Halter was also nominated by President Clinton and served as Deputy Commissioner and later as Acting Commissioner of the Social Security Administration where he championed the implementation of Social Security services via the Internet.
Halter has advised Fortune 500 companies from a range of industries while working as a management consultant with McKinsey and Company, and has served on the boards of five public companies: Akamai Technologies, webMethods, InterMune, Xenogen, and Threshold Pharmaceuticals.
"We are very excited to welcome Bill to our board. He has a unique and impressive cross section of experience and trusted relationships with policy makers in the public sector and decision makers in the private sector. He will be a key advisor and strategist in our efforts to make public and private buildings more energy efficient and emphasize the importance of how energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives can reduce spending and create jobs," said Russ McMeekin, president and chief executive officer, SCIenergy.
"I have admired SCIenergy's development of technologies to reduce energy consumption and costs in commercial buildings. The company's services provide significant savings for both public and private sector customers. Buildings account for 20 percent of energy consumption in America alone, and SCIenergy has recognized how to resolve that financial and environmental burden with cloud based energy management solutions," said Halter.
Bill Halter is a Rhodes Scholar, receiving a Master of Philosophy degree in economics from Oxford University. He studied economics and political science as a National Merit Scholar and Harry S. Truman Scholar at Stanford University, earning an A.B. degree with honors and distinction and graduating as a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
