NEW YORK, April 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- With summer quickly approaching and preparations for the upcoming boating season well underway, TGM is very excited about its recent partnership with the SoundWaters organization. As part of the partnership SoundWaters' 80-foot, three-masted schooner will be docked at TGM Anchor Point Marina in Stamford Harbor. The schooner is a teaching vessel that is used by SoundWaters to facilitate hands-on, science-infused learning experiences surrounding the ecology of Long Island Sound with programs specifically tailored toward children and adults.
TGM Anchor Point Apartments and Marina runs along the west side of the west branch of Stamford River with its southernmost end bordering John J. Boccuzzi Park. SoundWaters, the leading environmental education organization on Long Island Sound, has key facilities at Boccuzzi Park's waterfront area. As SoundWaters "most visible and recognized resource," it is naturally fitting that the schooner will now call TGM Anchor Point Marina, "Stamford's marina of choice," its new home.
Leigh Shemitz, President of SoundWaters, noted that the "the TGM pier and dock create an ideal home for the schooner SoundWaters, bringing the ship into the main Stamford Harbor for student learning and summer exploration for the entire community. As Stamford kicks off its 375th celebration it is especially fitting that the ship, a historic replica of a 17th century sharpie schooner, is now berthed at the heart of Stamford Harbor."
In 2015, TGM purchased Anchor Point, a waterfront community with 323 rental apartment homes and, 72 boat slips available for hourly, daily, seasonal, and year-round rental for the general public. The 15 acre community and the 72 slip marina overlooks Stamford harbor and can accommodate boats up to 90 feet in length. Anchor Point Apartments offers studio, one, two and three bedroom apartment homes with an average square footage of almost 1,000 feet. Since its acquisition, TGM has completely renovated the interior of the all apartment homes and is actively planning a major renovation of the community's interior common areas. Construction is in progress to extend to the current boardwalk to further walkability and connect the community to other areas of Stamford's vibrant waterfront. Once completed convenient walking access will exist to the Crab Shell restaurant, Prime restaurant, and other restaurants and nightlife activity surrounding Stamford harbor.
Anchor Point apartment residents and seasonal slip holders benefit from access to an extremely extensive and resort-like amenity package which includes a two level 24-hour state-of-the-art athletic club, indoor basketball court, indoor racquetball court, café lounge with Apple computer bar and complimentary Wi-Fi, swimming pool, landscaped courtyards and multiple grilling areas. Shuttle transportation from the property to the Stamford train station is offered, providing convenient access to Manhattan, and the Northeast corridor.
