MEDIA, Pa., April 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- For most educators, the rewards of differentiated learning are exciting, but elusive. Even the most ambitious differentiators find themselves boxed in by the time limits of the school day and the rigors of new computer-based assessments. K-12 technology provider, OnCourse Systems for Education, believes it has created a digital learning environment that makes personalization easier for even the busiest teacher.
In April 2016, the company announced the launch of OnCourse Classroom, a cloud-based learning management and assessment system. A group of early-adopter districts is testing the system for the remainder of the 2015-16 school year, with the full system to be released in Summer 2016.
OnCourse Classroom is a secure, cloud-based environment where educators can initiate class collaboration, distribute differentiated resources, and create project-based learning paths for small groups, individuals, or classes. Classroom also offers guardian-level access to keep parents informed about student work.
Educators can also use OnCourse Classroom to author and administer interactive formative assessments using "technology-enhanced items" (TEIs) powered by eLearning leader, Learnosity. TEIs stimulate deep, authentic problem-solving that improves proficiency at navigating real-world challenges and computer-based summative assessments.
OnCourse CEO, Chris Contini, believes that the real power lies in integration. "We've learned that educator success is predicated on having fewer systems to manage, not more," says Contini.
OnCourse Classroom can be seamlessly integrated with modules for grading, lesson planning, curriculum, discipline, and student information systems (SIS). Transfer of grades between LMS and grade books is one of the many advantages. "Districts unlock a level of actionable data that can't be discovered when all of the school's systems are provided by separate vendors."
For school districts already partnered with OnCourse, this new application represents a significant step toward the coveted all-in-one system.
"We call this the 'OnCourse Path-to-Platform,'" says Contini. "Districts begin using a single OnCourse module to solve an immediate need. Each year, they build on their platform in areas of instruction, assessment, staff performance, or student information and capture transformative new benefits at every step of the way."
Since 2002, OnCourse Systems for Education has provided its educational partners with intuitive, cloud-based systems that inform, inspire and connect. For more information about OnCourse Classroom, contact 800-899-7204, e-mail [email protected], or visit www.oncoursesystems.com.
