NEW YORK, July 16, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Schoology, the leader in K-12 teaching and learning technology, today opened its fifth-annual Schoology NEXT user conference in San Diego. Schoology NEXT provides each attendee a vision of immediate and long-term possibilities in education. Over the course of four days, Schoology NEXT equips users with the mindset, know-how, community, and relationships needed to accelerate progress toward those possibilities at both an individual and institutional level.
Schoology NEXT attendees will gain the knowledge and experiences needed to advance what's possible in their classrooms and districts, get insights from Schoology leadership, and hear from other like-minded educators about how they are achieving their goals. 2018 represents the largest Schoology NEXT conference, with more than 1,000 customers and partners expected to attend.
This year, Schoology NEXT kicks off with keynote addresses from Schoology Co-Founder and CEO, Jeremy Friedman, K20CONNECT CEO, Kecia Ray, and best-selling author and educator, Catlin Tucker. Schoology NEXT is sponsored by leading education technology service providers, including Amazon Web Services, Respondus, TurnItIn, Wiris, BlindSide Networks, LearnZillion, Key Data Systems, NearPod, Education Modified, Cabrilog, and WeVideo.
The conference also features over 50 breakout sessions led by Schoology's community of district leaders and users, including: Macomb Intermediate School District, Denver Public Schools, Killeen Independent School District, Minnetonka Public Schools, Palo Alto Unified School District, Downingtown Area School District, Park Hill School District, Saint Paul Public Schools, Klein Independent School District, Westerville City Schools and more.
"We are so excited for Schoology NEXT 2018," said Schoology CEO, Jeremy Friedman. "Every year the event gets bigger and better. It's always an amazing feeling to see the entire community come together and learn from each other. We know that K-12 school districts face many obstacles to effective teaching and learning and our vision for Schoology is to enable our customers and users to eliminate those barriers."
"I have attended NEXT for the past three years and I can say it is the most comprehensive and inspiring educational conference I have experienced," said Jared Lopatin, Educational Technology Coordinator for Lexington School for the Deaf. "It's not just about the sessions, which are, in and of themselves, pretty awesome, it's about the people you meet there and the conversations that happen throughout the conference and the tips and tricks and hacks and strategies that you learn through those conversations."
Attendees also have an opportunity to earn continuing education and graduate credits by attending Schoology NEXT and the pre-conference sessions. The Schoology Professional Learning team recently received the ISTE Seal of Alignment for their ongoing Blended Learning Leader Program. The Schoology Blended Learning Leader Program earned a Proficiency Seal and gives educators the opportunity to practice the skills and knowledge necessary to meet the ISTE Standards for Educators.
