School Change Team was developed by Change for Kids (CFK), a New York-based nonprofit that partners with under-resourced inner-city elementary schools and works with their principal and administrative staff to identify the school's needs and create inspiring learning environments that help students discover their strengths and develop confidence to achieve.
One measure of the program's success can be seen at P.S. 73 in the South Bronx which went from near failing to A-rated by the New York City Board of Education in three years. Over the next five years, CFK expects to expand its reach to ten additional under-resourced schools.
"Through our School Change Team program, Change for Kids is providing services and support that put students on the path to long-term achievement and help struggling schools become a source of pride in underprivileged communities," said Colin Smith, Executive Director of Change for Kids.
