Scholarship America Names Richard S. Greene Chief Financial Officer
MINNEAPOLIS and ST. PAUL, Minn., June 3, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Scholarship America, Inc., the nation's largest nonprofit scholarship and education support organization, today announced that Richard S. (Rick) Greene has joined the organization as Chief Financial Officer.
Greene was most recently Chief Financial Officer for APR Energy PLC, and brings more than 20 years of strategic financial expertise to Scholarship America. In this new role, he will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the organization. He will oversee the organization's financial control function, manage the annual independent audit process, and work closely with the CEO, Board of Trustees and Executive Team to formulate the future financial and operational strategies for the organization and establishing and monitoring annual financial goals and objectives.

As CFO for APR Energy, Greene was responsible for all finance, accounting, external reporting, treasury, investor relations, tax and risk management activities for the $260 million organization. His strategic and financial leadership resulted in significant revenue growth for the organization.

Prior to his position at APR Energy, Greene held CFO positions at Deluxe Corporation and TYCO International/Covalence Specialty Materials Corp., where he achieved significant operational efficiencies and margin improvement; developed robust finance, pricing and forecasting processes to improve performance; and established a risk management governance framework and assessment process.
Greene, who is proficient in Spanish and French, has been a board member with numerous Twin Cities nonprofit organizations including The Sanneh Foundation, where he currently serves at Treasurer and a member of the finance committee, the Minnesota Literacy Council, Deluxe Corp. Foundation and the W.R. Hotchkiss Foundation.
Greene holds a B.A. in international management and Spanish from Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, Calif., and an MBA from UCLA's Anderson School, where he focused on finance and strategic studies.
