Schlotzsky's and JDRF Team Up for National 'Give $1, Get $1' Fundraising Campaign
Annual Step Up! campaign encourages loyal Schlotzsky's guests to support type 1 diabetes research
AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Schlotzsky's®, home of The Original® oven-baked sandwich and famous Fresh-from-Scratch® buns, has once again launched its annual, month-long charity drive with JDRF, the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research, and is offering guests special rewards in exchange for their donation.
The fifth annual Schlotzsky's Step Up! Campaign features a "Give $1, Get $1" system-wide promotion, which offers guests a coupon for $1 off their next Schlotzsky's purchase for every $1 they donate to JDRF now through November 14, which is also World Diabetes Day. Guests can also increase their discount by increasing their contributions. With the "Give $5, Get Lotz More" option, guests will receive a Lotz More coupon card with more than $15 in value for every $5 they donate to JDRF.
Additionally, Schlotzsky's is hosting a World Diabetes Rewards Bite Match Day on Monday, November 14, the last day of the Step Up! campaign, where Schlotzsky's corporate will match every LOTZ4ME™ rewards bite with a $1 donation to JDRF. Members of the brand's rewards app, LOTZ4ME, earn "sandwich bites" with each qualifying rewards visit to any Schlotzsky's location nationwide. After earning seven bites, LOTZ4ME members then receive $7 off the item of their choice.
Schlotzsky's aims to raise $150,000 this for year for JDRF, their national cause partner since 2012. In just four years, Schlotzsky's has raised more than $800,000 in support and overall donations to JDRF through the annual Step Up! Campaign, local walks and other events.

Each year, more than 40,000 people are estimated to be diagnosed with T1D.
