Schell Brothers Earns Best Green Built Home in Delaware for the second year in a row
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del., May 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- On May 17th, 2013 Schell Brothers, a builder of new homes in Delaware, earned the award for Best Green Built Home for the second year in a row at the Annual Regal Awards Ceremony presented by the Home Builders Association of Delaware. Held in the state capital of Dover, the awards highlighted the best in both Sales and Marketing within the Delaware home building industry.

The Hartford model at Heritage Creek in Milton received the Best Green Built Home Award. One of the first models built with Schellter™ Advanced Building Science technologies, The Hartford scored a 48 on the HERS scale which means an estimated annual heating and cooling cost savings of $2,000 over a typical existing home with a HERS score of 130. As the first home builder in Delaware to sign on to RESNET's program requiring a 100% commitment to marketing their achieved HERS scores, Schell Brothers Homes are delivering an average HERS score of 52 on standard homes and 31 on homes with upgraded solar.
The Hartford was built to meet the EPA's stringent Indoor AirPlus Program specifications. The Best Green Built Home wasn't the only award that Schell Brothers left the ceremony with on Friday night. Several individual accomplishments were recognized: Jamie Hudson was awarded Sales Director of the Year for the second year in a row; Larry Gee was awarded Selections Coordinator of the Year, now for three years running; Johnny Cristaldi was recognized for Superintendent of the Year; Josh Hay was presented Sales Person of the Year.
