Online voting open on www.GetStartedOKC.com for People's Choice competition
OKLAHOMA CITY, March 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- ScanMed QR took top honors Tuesday night at the Oklahoma History Center in Get Started OKC (#GetStartedOKC) - Cox Business and Inc. Magazine's first-ever pitch contest designed to support local entrepreneurship and business innovation. Earning top marks for originality, ease of implementation and benefit to the community, ScanMed QR received a $5,000 Cox Business technology makeover.
"Get Started OKC was an incredibly beneficial event on a number of levels," said Eric Richardson, president and co-founder, ScanMed QR. "The ability to interact with other Oklahoma entrepreneurs and hearing how their products and services are helping to grow several industries was incredible, while the $5,000 technology makeover will undoubtedly help our company grow the next level. In addition, the rare one-on-one experience with industry veterans gaining tips and advice was invaluable."
"Congratulations to ScanMed QR from Cox Business. We saw the entrepreneurial spark is alive and well in Oklahoma!" said Randy Chandler, vice president of Cox Business Oklahoma. "ScanMed QR along with the other seven competing businesses have unique and viable business concepts. Our goal was to help drive these businesses forward with expert advice while shining a spotlight on the hot bed of entrepreneurship here in Oklahoma."
While the official winner of the pitch competition has been named, there's still time to crown the People's Choice winner. The top eight business pitches are featured on www.GetStartedOKC.com for people to vote online. The winner of the People's Choice will receive a profile on Cox Business' social destination, BLUE, and one-on-one consulting time with Phil Busey, one of the evening's judges and Oklahoma City serial entrepreneur.
Chandler added, "All of the businesses are inspirational. I encourage everyone to go online and see for yourself on www.GetStartedOKC.com. Not only can folks that weren't in the room see the pitches, but there's an opportunity to vote for your favorite."
The People's Choice voting will close March 12 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. The pitch with the most votes will be crowned the People's Choice winner.
