SCANA Corporation Selects Elster to Supply Gas Meters

RALEIGH, N.C., April 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Elster (NYSE: ELT) today announced that two SCANA Corporation companies, South Carolina Electric and Gas (SCEG) and Public Service of North Carolina (PSNC), have selected Elster American Meter to supply all classes of Elster American Meter diaphragm meters to their service areas in 2011.

Marking its 175th anniversary in the gas metering industry, Elster has enjoyed a long-term relationship with SCANA, delivering high-quality metering products, pressure control devices and piping products for residential, commercial and gas transmission applications.

Elster American Meter diaphragm gas meters have measurement chambers formed by movable diaphragms. With the gas flow directed by internal valves, the chambers alternately fill and expel gas, producing a nearly continuous gas flow through the meter.  The Elster American Meter diaphragm meter is preferred by many customers due to its accuracy over a long service life, outstanding durability and impact on maintenance costs.
