SCAN Health Plan Promotes Lena Perelman to Director of Community Outreach
LONG BEACH, Calif., April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- SCAN Health Plan, one of the largest not-for-profit Medicare Advantage plans in the United States, has promoted Lena Perelman to director of community outreach, effective immediately. Perelman previously served as community outreach project manager for SCAN.
In her new role Perelman will continue to oversee SCAN's community involvement programming, including the recently launched SCAN Van, the nation's first mobile resource center built specifically for seniors and their caregivers. Perelman was instrumental in the creation and implementation of the SCAN Van, which brings health and educational services directly into the communities SCAN serves. She will also continue to oversee community giving and Trading Ages™ (SCAN's unique senior sensitivity training program), and will assume responsibility for the SCAN Senior Resource Center in Ventura, California.

Perelman has more than 10 years of experience in healthcare. Prior to joining SCAN in 2008, she was the business development manager for Talbert Medical Group in Costa Mesa. She has also held positions with Secure Horizons and Los Angeles County Community and Senior Services. Perelman earned a master's degree in gerontology and a master's degree in public administration from the University of Southern California and a bachelor's degree in psychology and art history from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
