Scallop Imaging M6-200 Panoramic IP Video Camera Delivers Low Light Performance Without IR
BOSTON, Sept. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Scallop Imaging, the market innovator in high resolution, panoramic video cameras, today debuted the M6-200 IP video camera, which delivers up to 0.005 lux low light performance, at 15 fps, without supplementary IR lighting. The six megapixel M6-200 video surveillance camera is the first distributed imaging, panoramic camera specifically designed to provide outstanding image quality under very low light conditions. Scallop Imaging is publicly introducing the camera this week at the ASIS International 2011 conference, in booth #461.
The M6-200 uses five highly sensitive, monochrome 1.2 megapixel image sensors, combined with high resolution f/1.7 optics, to deliver unsurpassed image quality, and short shutter speeds, from bright sunlight to 0.005 lux without the need for IR illumination. In addition, the M6-200 delivers a 720p HD video stream, at up to 15 fps, that combines a seamless 200 degree field of view, plus up to four separate and instantly repositionable detail views, allowing simultaneous 200 degree situational awareness and detailed zoom views at the same time. The camera can also record the full resolution six megapixel image stream at one fps for recording and viewing later.
"There's no longer any need to choose between high resolution, low light sensitivity, and short shutter speeds," said Peter Jones, President of Scallop Imaging. "The M6-200 delivers all three, without using supplementary IR, delivering a better and much more useful view of poorly lit parking lots, business entrances, critical infrastructure, and other areas under video surveillance. Security is a 24 hour job - the M6-200 camera doesn't take the night off."
The M6-200 is available from Scallop Imaging and its distributors. For more information, visit www.scallopimaging.com.
About Scallop Imaging, Inc.
Scallop Imaging is the leading innovator in developing video imaging systems based on the principles of distributed imaging. Distributed Imaging is a patented technology, developed by Scallop, where the outputs of multiple megapixel image sensors are fused in real-time within the camera to produce seamless images of any field of view or resolution. This allows incredible resolution in a small form factor at reasonable cost and with low bandwidth requirements. Scallop Imaging's award-winning seven megapixel D7-180 and A7-180 cameras provide a combination of panoramic 180 degree field of view plus detailed zoom views. Scallop Imaging is a Division of Tenebraex Corporation, which was founded in 1992 and is located in Boston.
