SC Johnson Named to Hispanic Business Magazine's Best Companies for Diversity Practices List for Fourth Year in a Row
Company Ranks #37 on the List in 2012
RACINE, Wis., Aug. 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- SC Johnson has been recognized for a fourth consecutive year by Hispanic Business Magazine as a top company for diversity as indicated by the company's ranking on the Best Companies for Diversity Practices List released today.
SC Johnson ranked #37 on the Best Companies for Diversity Practices List. Placement on the annual list, published in the September 2012 issue of the magazine, is determined by more than 30 variables that measure a company's commitment to Hispanic hiring, promotion, marketing, philanthropy and supplier diversity.
"We are honored by this recognition," said Fisk Johnson, Chairman and CEO of SC Johnson. "Diversity is important to us because it is fundamental to attracting and motivating the most talented people. We are thrilled to be recognized alongside so many progressive companies."
SC Johnson has long been recognized as a great place to work with multiple recognitions from FORTUNE magazine, Working Mother magazine, DiversityInc., and the Human Rights Campaign.
In compiling the list, Hispanic Business Magazine examined top FORTUNE 1000 companies, American subsidiaries of Global 500 companies and large U.S. public and private companies.
The 2010 U.S. Census results confirmed that more than 52 percent of U.S. population growth came from Hispanics. This population group is expected to continue growing, therefore becoming an even larger percentage of the general population.
"We are honored to be recognized once again by Hispanic Business Magazine for our commitment to diversity," said Maria L. Campbell, Director of Diversity at SC Johnson. "Mutual respect and inclusion continue to be core values of SC Johnson."
