WASHINGTON, Nov. 30, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Small Business Administration's Interagency Task Force on Veterans Small Business Development (IATF) and Advisory Committee on Veterans Business Affairs (ACVBA) will hold quarterly public meetings on Dec. 5 and 6 respectively at SBA headquarters in Washington, D.C.
The IATF meeting will be held Wednesday, Dec. 5, from 1 to 4 p.m. The ACVBA will meet Thursday, Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Both Federal Advisory Committee public meetings will provide updates on the state of veteran-owned small businesses, including policy efforts and progress made in areas such as access to capital, and training and counseling.
This quarter's meetings will also include updates from SBA's Office of Veterans Business Development, and a discussion on the recently released joint report on veteran entrepreneurship and capital access.
"These December meetings are especially significant as we approach the new calendar year," said Larry Stubblefield, Associate Administrator for SBA's Office of Veterans Business Development. "We've made so much progress in the past year, such as expanding the Veterans Business Outreach Program, and reaching a milestone of training 85,000 Boots to Business participants. I'm excited to see how we can extend this into the new fiscal year."
Both IATF and ACVBA meetings are public meetings held quarterly at SBA headquarters, 409 3rd Street SW, Washington, D.C. 20416. The committee meetings will be accessible in person and via webinar. Both public meeting transcripts may also be found at www.sba.gov/ovbd under section heading, "Federal Advisory Committees," following each meeting.
Advance notice of attendance is requested. Anyone wishing to attend and/or make comments to the IATF or ACVBA must contact SBA's Office of Veterans Business Development no later than Dec. 1 at [email protected].
Comments for the record will be limited to five minutes to accommodate as many participants as possible. Written comments should be sent to the above email address by Dec. 1.
