SBA Opens Disaster Loan Outreach Center in Staten Island

ATLANTA, April 30, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The U.S. Small Business Administration announced the opening of a Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) in Staten Island, New York, Wednesday, May 1 at 9 a.m. This Center will provide one-on-one assistance to homeowners, renters and business owners seeking disaster assistance for losses caused by Hurricane Sandy.

"Survivors who receive an SBA disaster loan application should submit it as soon as possible to receive consideration for a low-interest loan to help with their recovery," said Frank Skaggs, director of SBA Field Operations Center East.  "SBA's Customer Service Representatives will be available at this Center and other Centers located throughout the disaster area to issue loan applications, and assist survivors with completing their applications," Skaggs added.

The Center is located as indicated below and will remain open until further notice:

Opens:   May 1 at 9 a.m.
Hours:    Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. 
              Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Closed:  Sundays

Applicants may also apply online using the Electronic Loan Application (ELA) via SBA's secure website at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela.

Additional information on the disaster loan program can be obtained by calling SBA's Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955 (800-877-8339 for the deaf and hard-of-hearing) or by sending an email to [email protected].  Loan application forms can be downloaded from www.sba.gov.

The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage was April 13, 2013.  The deadline to return economic injury applications is July 31, 2013.
