Say So Long, Summer With a 'Dream-Cation' Labor Day Weekend at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Aug. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Before the last playful days of summer slip into the sunset (and that dream vacation slips off the calendar), the paradise of the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is bringing two other popular destinations to the resort – Hawaii and Las Vegas – for its "Dream-cation" Labor Day getaway September 3-4, 2011. This special weekend offers themed activities, fireworks, trip giveaways, shows and maybe even an Elvis sighting...

The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is having fun with a Hawaiian theme on Saturday, September 3, including a Hawaiian buffet, an authentic Polynesian show of fire and hula dancing on the Lagoon Lawn, poolside limbo, lei making and Dive-In movies. At Willow Stream, spa goers enjoy a Lomi Lomi Massage that weekend for $125, along with hula dance classes and "mai thais" served at the spa's rooftop pool. Bourbon Steak is putting Hawaiian flair on the menu that Saturday evening with Chef Daniel Patino's Smoked Pull Pork Hawaiian Burger, with pineapple and jalapeno on a house-made Hawaiian bun, accompanied by a breezy "Day at the Beach" cocktail. For dessert, its Mainland Haupia, made of mango panna cotta, coconut cake and sorbet. This island dinner trio is $28.
Then on September 4, guests can experience "Viva La Vegas" with a High-Roller Buffet and a concert from one of Las Vegas' hottest, high-voltage dance bands, Zowie Bowie. Over at Willow Stream, guests can be pampered with a Vegas Mani-Pedi with a glass of Champagne or spin the roulette wheel to win spa prizes.
Two things Hawaii and Vegas both have in common are weddings and Elvis. During the "Dream-cation Weekend," vacationers can renew their vows with Thomas Williams, the resort's Director of Guest Services who is an ordained minister, and then be whisked away in a "limo," a.k.a., a golf cart trailing with tins cans and chauffeured by, yes, Elvis.
A fireworks show caps off both nights and guests will have a chance to win vacations to The Fairmont Orchid on the Big Island, The Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui and the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. As an added bonus, guests may lounge longer with a late check-out of 4 p.m. on Monday, September 5. "Dream-cation Weekend" rates start at $169 per night for the "Sip, Savor & Splash" package including a $50 food & beverage credit.
For reservations, dial (480) 585-4848, toll-free at (866) 540-4495 or visit www.scottsdaleprincess.com. The resort is located at 7575 East Princess Drive in Scottsdale, Ariz.
