HARTFORD, Wis., June 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Broan, a Nortek Company (Nasdaq: NTK), introduces the future of fresh air. Energy efficiency continues to be a major trend in home building and is a key component in making home building a greener industry. While modern-day homes are built to save energy through tight construction, that same tight construction can negatively affect indoor ventilation, sealing in unwanted indoor air pollutants and chemicals. Now, more than ever, balanced ventilation systems with heat and energy recovery are critical to both maintaining a healthy home and keeping homeowners feeling comfortable. The new Broan HE Series HRV and ERV models combine the best performance with the best energy efficiency to provide fresher, purer indoor air at a lower overall cost.
Thanks to its high-efficiency electronically commutated motors (ECM) and exclusive blower design, the new Broan HE Series consumes up to 60% less power than any other heat recovery ventilator (HRV) or energy recovery ventilator (ERV) certified by Energy Star®.* With a CFM/Watt ratio ranging between 2.9 and 3.6, the four new models of the HE Series are rated up to three times beyond the current CFM/Watt Energy Star requirements.** Moreover, the HE Series' high-efficiency recovery cores are uniquely designed for all climatic conditions in North America.
"Whole-home ventilation systems are the centerpiece of today's energy-efficient homes," said Mathieu Lebel, Broan Global Marketing Manager. "Saving energy is crucial, and tight home construction needs proper ventilation to remove excess moisture and indoor pollutants. Broan provides homeowners with energy-efficient solutions that improve indoor air quality and home comfort."
To ensure superior indoor air quality, the Broan HE Series continuously supplies fresh air to the home while exhausting stale air and pollutants that can contribute to poor air quality. This fresh air is filtered using a MERV 6 grade filter to ensure a healthier indoor environment. For households with family members suffering from allergies, asthma or other respiratory problems, an optional HEPA filter that removes 99.97% of all dust and particles at .3 microns is also offered.
The HE Series features new models: two HRVs and two ERVs. New models offer a cubic feet per minute (CFM) range from 210 to 250 at 0.4 in. w.g. The new Broan HE Series will be available in June 2016.
*Based on the CFM/Watt performance of the ENERGY STAR product lists of heat/energy recovery ventilators posted on December 2015.
**CFM/Watt requirement of the heat/energy recovery ventilation (HRVs) and (ERVs)-ENERGY STAR technical specifications. Version 2.0.
