77,000 more Customers get Power Restored
NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Entergy crews restored power to 77,000 more Louisiana customers since 6 p.m. Saturday. Overall, 439,000 customers in Louisiana have had their power restored since Isaac left 704,000 customers without electricity. As of 6 a.m. this morning, approximately 265,000 customers were without power across the state.
Isaac caused extensive damage to power grid. Although totals may change once restoration is complete, preliminary damage estimates from the storm's impact in Louisiana include:
- Damaged poles - 6,200
- Spans of Wire Down – 6,000
- Damaged Transformers – 2,000
- Broken Cross Arms – 4,000
- Damaged Service Lines to Customers – 3,000
- Spans With Trees on Them – 5,500
