SASC Coalition Calls New Standards "A Positive Step," Says Administration Should Meet Industry Halfway
WASHINGTON, Sept. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Student Access, Student Choice (SASC) coalition of private sector colleges and universities today released the following statement on the Foundation for Educational Success' newly released "Standards for Responsible Conduct" pertaining to vocational, post-secondary institutions:
"The Foundation for Educational Success has taken a positive step by proactively producing new guidelines and standards for private sector colleges and universities," said Jeff Golc, director of governmental relations and external affairs for Harrison College.
"This is yet another example of the industry's willingness and desire to make improvements and reforms that will serve the thousands of students who rely on vocational institutions each year to obtain the skills and training necessary to compete for 21st Century jobs.
"We hope the Obama Administration will take notice of these new standards and meet the industry halfway by reducing or repealing burdensome regulations such as the so-called 'gainful employment' rule that will only serve to inhibit the ability of so many Americans from attaining a college education and achieving the American Dream," concluded Golc.
