SAP Helps Move U.S. Government Into the Cloud With Collaborative Report

WASHINGTON, July 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) and other industry leaders throughout the U.S. today unveiled a TechAmerica Foundation report outlining the U.S. cloud computing roadmap, the result of collaboration by the Commission on the Leadership Opportunity in U.S. Deployment of the Cloud (CLOUD2). Sanjay Poonen, president of Global Solutions at SAP, was selected as a commissioner for the report to provide key findings from SAP's experience as the leading enterprise application provider, and help shape the "industry voice" on cloud best practices. The announcement was made today at an event being held at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., and at satellite events in San Jose, California, and Richardson, Texas.

The U.S. cloud computing roadmap provides the Obama Administration with detailed recommendations to help the federal government drive adoption of cloud computing technologies for maximum business and IT benefits, and to frame the policy steps necessary to help ensure continued U.S. leadership on the innovation forefront. Divided into four recommendation areas — "Trust," "Transformation," "Transparency" and "Transnational Data Flow" — the highly anticipated report is the path to moving the U.S. government to the cloud and keeping America moving at the speed of industry innovation.
