ORLANDO, Fla., May 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) is committed not only to helping its customers master complexity through digital transformation, but also to transforming itself. Leading by example, the company today announced new digitally native offerings, built for immediate personal consumption via a new online purchase experience. The announcement was made at SAPPHIRE® NOW, being held May 5-7 in Orlando, Florida.
"For 43 years SAP has helped organizations around the world become best-run. Now our digital business will bring the power of SAP technology to individuals, using the same simple approaches they know in their personal lives," said Bill McDermott, CEO and member of the Executive Board of SAP SE. "This is a key accelerator for SAP's growth aspirations as the SAP Digital organization will create new revenue through new offerings that appeal to a new, individual buyer."
According to McKinsey & Company, businesses that embrace digital transformations could see increases in revenue as much as 30 percent. Today, digital commerce and consumption are pervasive among individual — from songs and books all the way up to online purchases of cars and houses in some countries. Individuals want that same simplicity, flexibility and freedom of digital consumption in the business world. The new digitally native offerings being unveiled today include options designed to delight individuals and to increase their access to and engagement with business applications and education from purchase to consumption and productive use.
From Purchase to Production, Pronto
Individuals across both large and small organizations can now buy from SAP without the need for a purchase order, invoice or lengthy RFP process. They can simply purchase as soon as they want and across multiple devices with the ease of a credit card. The SAP® Digital organization has streamlined contracts for its offerings down to a simple one-click online agreement and transparent pricing. Individuals can configure their new applications, usually in a few hours or less, without requiring the aid of their IT department or outside consultants. At the same time, CIOs will have comfort from the security and scalability of an SAP offering that can be seamlessly upgraded to an enterprise edition without extensive effort or business disruption.
Empowering Individuals to Solve Problems in the Business Moment
SAP Digital aims to serve individuals, including business owners, salespeople, business analysts, human resource and talent managers and developers. Each new offering below puts the power to solve common business problems directly into the hands of individuals.
For example, there have been more than 500,000 downloads of the free version of SAP Lumira® software, but it has further capabilities that can be unlocked by upgrading to the paid version. By mid-year, it is planned that an individual using the free version to visualize the inventory in their supply chain, for example, will be able to see additional features available in the paid version — such as new data sources — and turn them on by simply clicking the feature and purchasing the paid version online, seamlessly, from within SAP Lumira itself. The paid version of SAP Lumira pricing is US$995 per user. In the future, SAP Digital plans to expand in-application purchase to additional products and scenarios, such as the purchase of relevant add-ons and extensions or third-party content.
Other digitally native offerings also launched today include:
SAP Digital for Customer Engagement is a simplified cloud customer relationship management (CRM) solution designed to meet the needs of individuals and small teams, but with enterprise-grade capabilities for both sales and customer service. The solution is provisioned immediately upon purchase and can be set up in minutes by following simple, in-product walk-throughs. An individual customer service manager, for example, can go through the entire purchase and set-up process, and then use the system to answer a customer inquiry and prepare a service ticket in a matter of minutes. An individual sales manager can import customer data from disparate systems, including Outlook, Google or CSV files, and immediately begin tracking and managing all customer interactions in one place. This digitally native app is available now on SAP Store, with a free 30-day trial and priced at US$29 per user per month.* Access to data is available anytime, anywhere and on mobile devices at no additional cost. It grows with a business and can be upgraded to the SAP Cloud for Customer solution anytime, using the same tenant.
SuccessFactors® Perform & Reward is a talent management bundle — from goal alignment and execution to 360-degree reviews and performance management and compensation — that is ideal for smaller divisions and businesses with fewer than 500 employees. Individual HR managers or small business owners can quickly purchase and deploy a strategic talent management solution that comes pre-loaded with 800 industry job descriptions and 90 competencies. The pricing starts at just under US$8 per user per month.
The SAP Learning Hub program, available today on SAP Store, provides unlimited online access to a vast selection of high-quality SAP Education offerings, complemented by interactive learning rooms. Individuals can get started with the discovery edition of SAP Learning Hub for free or buy the business user edition at just over US$300 per user per year, with volume discounts available.
Other offerings already available on SAP Store include, but are not limited to SAP HANA® Cloud Platform, SAP Crystal solutions and the SAP SQL Anywhere® suite.
SAP Digital Runs hybris
SAP Store, a key component of SAP Digital, is able to offer this new purchase experience because it is built on the SAP hybris® Commerce Suite, part of SAP solutions for customer engagement and commerce. The SAP hybris Commerce Suite is optimized to deliver an omni-channel commerce experience, allowing great scalability to support the needs of SAP Digital. This includes enabling PayPal for third-party offerings, smart search and the ability to offer credit card payments in additional countries. To manage data in the store and guarantee high performance, the store is also running on the SAP HANA platform. To date, all applicable products from the former online store for SAP® BusinessObjects™ offerings and SAP HANA Marketplace have been migrated onto the new SAP Store, SAP's single digital commerce channel moving forward.
