ISELIN, N.J., Oct. 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Santéch Solutions is releasing new application programming interfaces (APIs) for its suite of solutions at NAMSS' 41st Educational Conference and Exhibit in Colorado Springs (Oct. 21-25, 2017). Santech is applying strategic IT intelligence to modernize provider data management infrastructure across all stakeholders with its in-depth knowledge of providers and payors' business needs. With the launch of its open APIs Santech will enable hospitals and medical practices to efficiently submit provider data to multiple participating payors.
"Payors and providers need smarter solutions that can communicate with each other to exchange provider participation information. Since this is critical for the success of payor-provider partnerships, Santech has deployed an open infrastructure solution suite which provides readily usable APIs and a user interface for submission of provider data usually sitting in multiple systems such as Credentialing, Quality, EMR, HR, and Practice Management Systems, and across numerous spreadsheets and manual notes," said Neeraj K. Sharma, Chief Operating Officer at Santéch Solutions.
Santéch expects the open APIs will make it easier for vendors of competing work flow systems to collaborate together to improve the healthcare ecosystem. With the help of these APIs, fragmented and distributed provider data can be pulled together from multiple systems and submitted seamlessly to payors in a usable format for credentialing, directory and value based reimbursement (VBR) contract management purposes.
Earlier this year Santech was selected as a 'cool vendor' by leading analyst firm Gartner for enabling transformational provider management due to its continuous innovations and modern provider data management infrastructure. "Offering an API to allow other solutions to leverage this comprehensive infrastructure suite was a natural next move to help the industry," Sharma noted.
APIs drive improved capabilities within the Industry:
- APIs allow hospitals and practices to seamlessly submit their provider data such as demographic, credentialing, location, specialty, work hours, accepting new patients (open close panel), quality scoring, attestations, signed applications, and participation acceptance of VBR contracts to multiple payors.
- APIs will help in submitting this data from heterogeneous sources, including Santéch's comprehensive I-Net Exchange program which deploys patent pending algorithms to identify correctness and completeness of data and that data meets a payor or plan's specific business requirements.
- APIs coupled with a user interface provide additional capabilities to hospitals and practices to nurture their provider data based on their specific business alignment with each payor and network.
- APIs and user interfaces also allow hospitals and practices to receive and fulfill requests from payors seeking information. Traditionally these requests get exchanged through email/faxes and phone calls, a cumbersome and time-consuming process for medical professionals.
Santech's intuitive APIs provide an appropriate solution to the three major problems of streamlining the payor-provider relationship. First, APIs allow hospitals and practices to seamlessly submit their provider data with payors right from their existing system of record. Second, APIs reduce staff time in accommodating provider directory update requests from multiple payors. Third, APIs reduce errors and mistakes of manual updates leveraging Santech's patent pending data cleansing and indexing algorithms. Through industry accelerating features, these APIs will help in modernizing the payor-provider relationship with more accurate provider information.
A well-timed offering for NAMSS attendees
System vendors work with multiple hospitals and practices to house their valuable provider data, and often struggle to exchange this information with payors. Santéch encourages these system vendors to beta test the newly released APIs to enhance their system capabilities for exchanging information with payors.
"How payers and providers exchange information is in drastic need of streamlining. While many of us are focused on filling that need, Santéch believes that if we work together, we can truly turn the provider-payer relationship around. We welcome technology partners and system vendors to work collaboratively to extend their system capabilities by using these APIs," said Sharma.
Sharma and Bert Fajardo, Santéch's VP of Strategy, are available at NAMSS to discuss in detail a simplified and intuitive provider management platform for credentialing and compliance at Booth # 108.
