To draw attention to the responsible choice of adopting, the Animal League - the world's largest rescue and adoption organization - provides live weekly UStream feeds: Tuesdays from the Grooming Room and Thursdays from the Pet Nursery. The feeds run from 11:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. and feature adorable and adoptable pets.
Animal lovers looking to save a life this holiday season are encouraged to visit a local shelter. Over 8 million animals enter shelters each year and, tragically, more than 4 million of them are euthanized. There are many healthy and beautiful animals at local shelters, looking for loving and permanent homes, and many shelters have special holiday hours. The Animal League is open every day, 9:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M., and holiday hours are Christmas Eve from 9:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M.; Christmas from 10:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M.; New Year's Eve from 10:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M.; and New Year's Day from 10:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M.
