Santa Clara County Superior Court Clerks Start Strike
8-years without a pay raise spurs action
SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Superior Court Clerks will strike starting tomorrow morning to protest 8-years without a pay raise, an approximate 40% reduction in staffing and unsafe work conditions. The 380 members of the Superior Court Professional Employees Association voted to authorize a strike after negotiations broke down with the court administration last week. Contract negotiations have been going on for over 2-years. The strike is anticipated to close several courthouses and severely impact court operations.
