Santa Clara County REALTORS® Foundation Donates $13,000 to Charitable Causes
SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 3, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- The Santa Clara County REALTORS® Foundation raised and donated more than $13,000 in cash and toys to a food bank, an elementary school and an adoptive children's organization this holiday season. The foundation is the charitable arm of the Santa Clara County Association of REALTORS® (SCCAOR).
Katherine R. Smith Elementary School in San Jose received $5,859, the Second Harvest Food Bank $2,500, and the Santa Clara County Foster & Adoptive Parent Association $5,000 in cash and toys. The foundation raised the money and toys through a Pumpkin Auction, a toy drive, and a food drive.
SCCAOR President Karl Lee and Foundation Chair Barbara Lymberis presented the checks at the association's Holiday Celebration event on December 2, a two-hour event that alone raised more than $2,000 in cash and piles of toys.
"We thank our REALTOR® and Affiliate members for their generosity," SCCAOR President Lee said. "In this difficult market condition, they are still committed to helping those who are less fortunate. They embody real estate professionals' wonderful spirit of giving and serving."
