Santa Clara County Association of REALTORS(R) Supports Building 49ers Stadium in City of Santa Clara

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 22 /PRNewswire/ --The Santa Clara County Association of REALTORS® supports the San Francisco 49ers' proposal to build a stadium in Santa Clara. This plan will accelerate economic growth for the city and the region, create thousands of jobs, and generate revenues to fund Santa Clara's programs for youths and seniors and help the Santa Clara Unified School District.

"The decision by the 49ers to make Santa Clara their home is a testament to the growing vitality of the South Bay," said Karl Lee, president of the Santa Clara County Association of REALTORS®. "We look forward to the positive impact that the 49ers will bring not only to the City of Santa Clara but to Santa Clara County as a whole."

The Santa Clara County Association of REALTORS® also lists the San Francisco 49ers' outstanding community outreach as a reason to endorse making Santa Clara the team's official home. The 49ers have supported and volunteered for many Santa Clara organizations, including the Santa Clara Schools Foundation, the Santa Clara City Library, the Valley Village Retirement Community, the Santa Clara Police Activities League, and the Mission City Community Fund.

The team proposes to build a 68,500-seat stadium adjacent to Great America theme park in Santa Clara. The Santa Clara City Council approved an environmental impact report in December and recently approved a broad plan to address impacts from the project. Santa Clara voters will vote in June on whether the project will go forward.
