Santa Clara County Association of REALTORS® Donates $10,000 to Downtown San Jose's Holiday Activities
SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Santa Clara County Association of REALTORS® has donated $10,000 to help save downtown San Jose's cherished holiday events.
Every year between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day, more than a half million people come downtown to visit Christmas in the Park, twirl and glide at the Downtown Ice outdoor skating rink, and take the rides of Winter Wonderland. But the city of San Jose faces a budget shortage and cannot subsidize these events like it has in the past. Christmas in the Park and Downtown Ice need an additional $320,000 in sponsorship to operate in 2011.
"The downtown holiday activities are important events for many families in our community," said Mike Sibilia, president of the Santa Clara County Association of REALTORS®. "We as REALTORS® are proud to support causes that make our community a better place to live."
