Santa Barbara Elks to Start SCARF - Elks Providing Soles, Clothing, Assistance, Respect, and Fuel for Better Living
CHICAGO, Jan. 25 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- With some help from the Elks National Foundation, the charitable arm of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, the Santa Barbara Elks will build on an already existing volunteer program they have with VA clinic. They will work with the clinic to identify needs and arrive once a week with supplies. They will also host events for Veterans at the clinic and at the Lodge.
SCARF - Elks Providing Soles, Clothing, Assistance, Respect, and Fuel for Better Living will be funded by an Impact Grant awarded to the Santa Barbara Elks by the Elks National Foundation. Impact Grants are the newest addition to the Elks National Foundation's Community Investments Program. They are competitive grants designed to help Elks make a difference in their community. This year, Santa Barbara Elks Lodge No. 613 is one of 49 recipients nationwide to receive an Impact Grant. The grants range from $2,500 to $10,000.
