SANTA ANITA PARK AND GULFSTREAM PARK ENTER AGREEMENT TO LAUNCH TRAKUS HORSE TRACKING SYSTEMS
AVENTURA, CA and HALLANDALE, FL, March 2 /PRNewswire/ - Santa Anita Park and Gulfstream Park announced today that they have jointly entered into an agreement with Trakus, LLC to install the revolutionary Trakus wireless tracking system at their respective racetracks in California and Florida.
The Trakus system instantaneously tracks each horse during a race, enabling real-time three-dimensional camera views and recording statistical information into a database. As a result, not only will the racetracks be able to more accurately collect comprehensive performance and handicapping data, but fans will also enjoy an enhanced race viewing experience. By displaying icons bearing the numbers of each horse, fans can more easily follow their horses during a race.
"In our goal to continue to deliver the ultimate experience and information to our valued customers, Santa Anita Park and Gulfstream Park are excited to embrace this innovative technology," said Mike Rogers, Vice-President, Operations at Santa Anita Park and Gulfstream Park.
"We are thrilled to be partnering with these two premier racetracks to implement the Trakus system," said Bob McCarthy, President and Chief Executive Officer of Trakus. "Santa Anita Park and Gulfstream Park will join a select group of North American racetracks able to meet the demands of today's wagering marketplace."
It is expected that the Trakus system will be in place at Santa Anita Park and Gulfstream Park by the end of this year.
