Santa Ana Rocked by 42 Arrests in Medical Marijuana Dispensaries
Kush Bottles provides guidance on staying compliant and avoiding closures
SANTA ANA, Calif., Aug. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Kush Bottles, North America's premier supplier of certified child-resistant packaging and compliant bottles for the marijuana industry, commented today on the news that in a span of two days, Santa Ana, California police made 42 arrests associated with medical marijuana dispensaries.
According to the Orange County Register, the beefed-up enforcement went into effect immediately after the City Council agreed to earmark $500,000 in overtime pay toward the task force, which includes the Santa Ana Police Department, the city attorney's office and code enforcement.
Of the 42 people who were taken into custody, five were Santa Ana residents. The others live in Foothill Ranch, Anaheim, Barstow, Garden Grove, Irvine, La Verne, La Puente and Huntington Beach, according to police reports.
Ben Wu, CEO of Kush Bottles said that his team includes experts on jurisdictional regulations and can often help dispensary operators avoid potential problems. "We deal with compliance and regulatory issues every day," Wu stated. "In Santa Ana, none of the closures were related to packaging issues," Wu added. "However, Kush Bottles has the most knowledgeable staff in the industry, and we regularly consult with dispensary owners and often are able to point out how a few simple changes can mean the difference between operating a successful business and one that may be facing serious issues."
As a leading provider of child-resistant packaging solutions to the marijuana industry across the country, Kush Bottles has access to the regulations that govern virtually every jurisdiction where cannabis is sold, either through medical marijuana dispensaries or at recreational, adult-use establishments.
"We encourage marijuana dispensary owners and operators, growers, and manufacturers of infused products to call us to discuss their packaging needs, assess and assure that they are absolutely in compliance, and operating within all existing guidelines and regulations," Wu added.
