SANS to Unveil Major NetWars Update at Minneapolis Training Event
Immersive Capture the Flag Event Ups the Ante with Exciting and Complex New Challenges
BETHESDA, Md., April 27, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SANS Institute, the global leader in information security training, today announced the impending debut of NetWars 5.0 at the SANS Minneapolis 2017 security training event taking place June 19 – 24. SANS NetWars 5.0 is an entirely new version of SANS' Core NetWars Experience, a computer and network security challenge designed to test a participant's experience and skills in a safe environment.
According to SANS NetWars CyberCity Director and SANS Faculty Fellow Ed Skoudis, "In this version, we have applied everything we've learned since creating NetWars more than eight years ago. We have taken the integration of late-breaking security vulnerabilities, cutting-edge technology, and story-telling via an immersive Capture the Flag event to the next level. Participants will find it fun, fascinating, and most of all, really helpful in building cutting-edge skills to defend their systems. I can't wait to see the reaction of those that compete at SANS Minneapolis."
SAN Minneapolis 2017 will feature hands-on immersion style training for security professionals at every level. Included among the courses offered are SEC401: Security Essentials Bootcamp Style, SEC560: Network Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking, SEC575: Mobile Device Security and Ethical Hacking, MGT514: IT Security Strategic Planning, Policy, and Leadership and LEG523: Law of Data Security and Investigations. Bonus evening sessions discussing some of today's most complex cyber security issues will round out the agenda.
