SANS to Host its First Alaskan Information Security Training Event
BETHESDA, Md., July 12, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SANS Institute, the global leader in information security training, today announced its first Alaskan information security training event. Taking place in Anchorage, SANS Alaska 2016 will be held August 22 - 27. This first time event will feature hands-on, immersion-style security training courses focused on industrial control system (ICS) security and ethical hacking.

SANS Alaska will feature the popular SEC504: Hacker Tools, Techniques, Exploits and Incident Handling course which provides insight into attackers' tactics and strategies. Participants will learn how to design, build, and operate their systems to prevent, detect, and respond to attacks. Also offered at the event is the ICS410: ICS/SCADA Security Essentials course which provides a foundational set of standardized skills and knowledge for industrial cybersecurity professionals. One of the bonus evening discussions, What We All Need to Learn from the Attack on the Ukrainian Power Grid, will provide additional insight into ICS security and vulnerabilities.
