SANS to Detail How Security Professionals Can Advance their Career at Northern Virginia Cyber Security Training Event
Hands-On Immersion Style Courses Available for All Skill Levels
BETHESDA, Md., Feb. 12, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- SANS Institute, the global leader in cyber security training, today announced the agenda for SANS Northern Virginia – Alexandria 2019 (#SANSAlexandria) taking place April 23-28. The event features courses and bonus evening discussions to help InfoSec professionals sharpen their skills and advance their careers. Included on the agenda is a talk by SANS Senior Instructor and Counter Hack Director Joshua Wright (@joswr1ght), "How to propel an InfoSec career into the next decade".
According to Wright, "The InfoSec market has many opportunities for security professionals who work hard to grow and develop their careers. Generous compensation, exciting benefits, and rewarding work challenges are all within grasp. Knowing what to work on, and how to develop a career for growth opportunities can be difficult though. A few strategic decisions on what to work on, how to build skills, and how to invest time can have a tremendous influence on career growth, or getting stuck in a rut. Join me in Virginia where I will examine some of the many opportunities that can be used to propel an InfoSec career into the next decade."
In addition to this evening talk, Wright will teach his SANS SEC575: Mobile Device Security and Ethical Hacking course. Wright designed this course to give security professionals the skills needed to understand the security strengths and weaknesses in Apple iOS and Android devices. Students will learn how to identify vulnerabilities and threats to mobile devices and how to communicate the associated risks.
Additional course topics offered at SANS Northern Virginia – Alexandria 2019 include cyber defense, penetration testing, digital forensics, and cyber threat intelligence. Courses are available for those new to cyber security as well as more experienced professionals. All courses are associated with GIAC certifications.
