SANS Southern California Security Training Event Aims to Help Break Down the Silos between Privacy and Security
Will Offer a Mix of Hands-On Immersion Style Security Training Courses
BETHESDA, Md., Nov. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SANS Institute, the global leader in information security training, today announced it is bringing its security training back to Anaheim, California. SANS Southern California - Anaheim 2017 will take place February 6 – 11 and feature a mix of security courses covering IT security, security management, digital forensics and ICS/SCADA. The event also features a number of bonus evening discussions including a talk by Mark Williams, Birds of a feather or…, which details how to build a more synergistic relationship between privacy and security.
According to SANS Instructor and Enterprise Security Architect at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, Mark Williams, "Although security and privacy can be very different initiatives, there are often more commonalities than differences. Managing them as separate programs isn't the best use of data, and it isn't the best way for executive management to stay informed. It's time we break down the silos and start working toward a way to take advantage of their commonalities. Join me at SANS Anaheim as I share how."
SANS Southern California will feature courses for newbies and highly seasoned InfoSec professionals. Those new to information security will benefit from SANS' SEC301: Intro to Information Security, SEC401: Security Essentials Bootcamp Style and ICS410: ICS/SCADA Security Essentials courses. For more seasoned professionals, SANS will offer FOR508: Advanced Digital Forensics, Incident Response and Threat Hunting and SEC660: Advanced Penetration Testing, Exploit Writing, and Ethical Hacking courses. For those interested in security management courses, Williams will teach his popular MGT514: IT Security Strategic Planning, Policy and Leadership course.
