SANS Introduces New Course to Address Secure DevOps and Cloud Application Security
Helps Developers and Security Teams Keep Up with Rapidly Changing Business Demands
BETHESDA, Md., Sept. 25, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SANS Institute, the global leader in information security training, today announced a new course to help developers and security professionals meet today's quickly evolving business needs. DEV540 Secure DevOps and Cloud Application Security is a five day hands-on immersion style training course that provide security, IT and risk professionals with new ways to help their organization to best utilize DevOps and cloud-based technology without putting a company at risk.
According to DEV540 course co-author and instructor Frank Kim, "DevOps and cloud are radically changing the way that organizations design, build, deploy and operate online systems. Because traditional approaches to security can't come close to keeping up with this accelerated rate of change, security must be reinvented. If your company is adopting DevOps and/or moving to the cloud (with AWS), you will want to take the Dev540 course."
The DEV540 Secure DevOps and Cloud Application Security course offers detailed insight into how developers and security professionals can build and deliver secure software using DevOps and cloud services, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS). The first two days students will learn how Secure DevOps can be implemented using lessons from successful DevOps security programs. Students will build a secure DevOps CI/CD toolchain and learn how code is automatically built, tested, and deployed using popular open source tools such as git, Puppet, Jenkins, and Docker. The final three days of the course covers how developers and security professionals can utilize AWS services and features for encryption, autoscaling, serverless computing, and more to build secure software in the cloud.
There are several opportunities to take the DEV540 Secure DevOps and Cloud Application Security course this year. While waitlisted at the Secure DevOps Summit & Training taking place in Denver, CO in October, additional course runs will be offered in conjunction with SANS Austin Winter 2017 December 4 – 8 in Austin, Texas and SANS Cyber Defense Initiative 2017 in Washington, D.C. December 14 – 18.
