SANS Announces Speaker Line-Up for Cyber Threat Intelligence Summit in Washington D.C.
More than 15 Speakers to Share Valuable Knowledge and Lessons Learned
BETHESDA, Md., Jan. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SANS Institute, the global leader in information security training, today announced the speaker line-up for the SANS Cyber Threat Intelligence Summit. Dr. Paul Vixie, CEO and Chairman of Farsight Security, Inc. has also been added as the second keynote speaker. Dr. Vixie will be joined by cyber security expert and investigative journalist, Brian Krebs, who is the opening keynote speaker.
More than 15 speakers will share their threat intelligence knowledge and lessons learned. Included among the list of speakers are top cyber security experts from The Federal Bureau of Investigation, Forrester Research, GitHub, Lockheed Martin, Mandiant, Niddel, The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Verisign iDefense and more.
"The available data about vulnerability disclosures, privacy breaches, and business losses related to network and computer security, compared to the available data on market capitalization and revenue for the commercial security industry, tells a damning story: we are doing almost everything wrong," said Dr. Paul Vixie, CEO of Farsight Security. "What we need is not evolution but revolution, and many of the thought leaders who have to plan and execute that revolution will be attending SANS CTI in Washington DC next month. I am not merely honored to be invited, but also, relieved that the right people will be talking about the right things."
Registration is now open for the Cyber Threat Intelligence Summit taking place in Washington, D.C. February 2 – 3. This two-day event will help organizations build effective cyber threat intelligence analysis capabilities. Most organizations know what threat intelligence is, but have no real concept on how to create and produce proper intelligence. Summit speakers will equip attendees with knowledge on the tools, methodologies and processes they need to move forward with cyber threat intelligence.
The summit is held in conjunction with an extensive six-day training event February 4 – 9, which teaches specific analysis techniques and capabilities that can be used to properly create and maintain cyber threat intelligence in an organization. What attendees learn will help them detect and respond to some of the most sophisticated threats targeting their organizations' networks.
