Sani Professional® Food Safety Advisory Council Announces Winners of The First Sani Awards™

ORANGEBURG, N.Y., Feb. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Sani Professional, the food safety division of Professional Disposables International (PDI), and the Sani Professional Food Safety Advisory Council (SPFSAC) are proud to announce the winners of the first Sani Awards™ award program.  The Sani Awards award program celebrates innovation and excellence in food safety and promotes best practices within the foodservice industry for education/training, employee/customer programs and guest experience.   

Here are the winners in each category:

Category A:  Outstanding food safety program innovation:

Awarded to CloudClean™ System, of Edgewater, NJ, for its significant improvement of hand hygiene in QSR / FSR franchises and commercial food processing through CloudClean™ Hand Hygiene Compliance Technology.  This cloud-based system trained, reminded and reported adherence to protocols in foodservice zones and workflow where hand washing was required.

Category B: Exceptional food safety education and/or training program implementation

Awarded to FoodSafetyGuy Lars Johnson, of Rochester, MN, for his partnership with the City of Minneapolis Health Department on food safety training that successfully prepared more than 400 foodservice personnel to host players, fans, media and dignitaries attending the 2014 Major League Baseball All Star Game.  The City of Minneapolis did not receive a single report of food borne illness during the All Star Game period.

Category C:  Best food safety focused guest experience

Awarded to K&N Management, of Austin, TX, for its significant increase in hand washes across 10 Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q and Mighty Fine establishments using the CleanTech automated hand washing system for guests and staff.  CleanTech systems are located within the restaurant, so they are accessible and visually present without having to visit a bathroom. 

Trophies will be presented to the winners at the Food Safety Summit in Baltimore, Maryland on April 29, 2015.

The Sani Awards™ award program celebrates innovation and excellence in food safety and promotes best practices within the foodservice industry for education/training, employee/customer programs and guest experience.  To be eligible for awards, winners had to demonstrate measureable improvements in chains with at least 5 units.  Results were required six months post implementation.  For more information visit thesaniawards.com.
