RICHMOND, Calif., April 8, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Sangamo Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: SGMO) today announced the completion of its previously announced underwritten public offering of 12,650,000 shares of its common stock at a price to the public of $11.50 per share, including 1,650,000 shares sold pursuant to the exercise in full of the underwriters' option to purchase additional shares. All of the shares were sold by Sangamo. Including the option exercise, the aggregate gross proceeds to Sangamo from the offering, before deducting the underwriting discounts and commissions and offering expenses, were approximately $145.5 million.
Sangamo anticipates using the net proceeds from the offering for working capital and other general corporate purposes, including support for its own and its partnered gene therapy, genome editing, cell therapy and gene regulation product candidates and research programs, its manufacturing facilities and other business development activities.
Cowen and Company, LLC, Wells Fargo Securities, LLC and Barclays Capital Inc. acted as joint book-running managers for the offering.
