Sandia National Laboratories Deploys Bridgeway Software To Electronically Manage Legal Matters
HOUSTON, Aug. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Bridgeway Software, the most recommended provider of legal services management solutions, today announced that Sandia National Laboratories has selected Bridgeway Software's eCounsel® to electronically manage its legal matters and improve the performance and operational maturity of its internal legal department. Sandia National Laboratories will leverage Bridgeway to increase efficiencies for more than 30 legal professionals and migrate from paper to an electronic matter management system.
"As a multidisciplinary national laboratory and federally funded research and development center (FFRDC), Sandia is always looking for better ways to accomplish tasks that are integral to the mission and operation of our sponsoring agencies and to leverage technology to operate more effectively," said Corey Reitz, Legal Technology Solutions, Sandia National Laboratories. "Bridgeway eCounsel's ease of use and ability to integrate into our existing infrastructure were determining factors in our decision to implement this matter management solution."
Utilizing eCounsel, Sandia will reduce the storage costs associated with paper-based matter management, make files available to attorneys and paralegals instantly whether on premise or offsite, and simultaneously share information among all necessary parties. Additionally, the federal national security laboratory will be able to easily view changes to matters, and provide sophisticated indexing and search capabilities within the repository to make that information more readily available. Most importantly, legal department staff can refer back to and repurpose work product from previously completed matters in order to achieve better and more cost-efficient outcomes.
For more than 60 years, Sandia has delivered essential science and technology to resolve the nation's most challenging security issues. Sandia National Laboratories is operated and managed by Sandia Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Corporation. Sandia Corporation operates Sandia National Laboratories for the U.S. Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) and supports numerous federal, state, and local government agencies, companies, and organizations.
As an FFRDC, Sandia may perform work for industry responding to certain types of federal government solicitations. The solicitation must allow FFRDC participation and meet the requirements of Sandia's management and operating contract with DOE/NNSA.
"Because we have been serving in-house counsel and corporate governance professionals for over two decades, we know how to address the issues and challenges they face daily," said David Samia, Vice President, Product Engineering and Management of Bridgeway Software. "We look forward to helping Sandia meet their goals of reducing costs and increasing efficiencies, while enabling their legal team to provide a high level of service to their organization."
