The Sandestin Gumbo Festival with its new date and location, The Village of Baytowne Wharf on President's Day Weekend, means more music, food and fun for all, with net proceeds benefiting charities

DESTIN, FL, Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ - The 22nd Annual Gumbo Cook-off, now The Sandestin Gumbo Festival, returns for Florida's Emerald Coast's favorite winter food event hosted at The Village of Baytowne Wharf on February 18-19, offering an extended President's Day weekend of fun, food and live entertainment.

The Sandestin Gumbo Festival begins with a "Taste of the Village," on Friday night at 6 p.m. and continues on Saturday with the Gumbo Cook-off from 12 to 4 p.m.  Festival attendees will sample gumbo and Bloody Marys from local restaurants and businesses, voting for the "People's Choice" awards.  Guests will also enjoy live Zydeco music, family entertainment and more. Celebrity judges, including representatives from Cooking with Paula Dean, NBC/WJHG-TV and others will also help determine the "Best" gumbo.

Tickets are $15 in advance.  For people purchasing "day of" tickets, the cost will be $25 with a $5 discount donating five non-perishable items.
