SANDESTIN GOLF AND BEACH RESORT UNVEILS 'ENCHANTING' HOLIDAY GINGERBREAD HOUSE AND HOLIDAY EVENTS FOR RESORT GUESTS AND GENERAL PUBLIC

DESTIN, FL, Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ - Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort invites the public and guests to view its Enchanted Forest Gingerbread House, highlighting characters from many classic children's stories, and share in holiday activities at The Grand Sandestin November 24th through January 1st. The Grand Sandestin is the resort's signature hotel, with its elegant southern style architecture, adjacent to the Village of Baytowne Wharf.

"The Enchanted Forest Gingerbread theme took shape after gaining inspiration from the woodland creatures of children's classics, like Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit and A.A. Milne's" Winnie the Pooh," said Yascha Becker, Sandestin Pastry Chef. "We added a twist by incorporated characters from the film series, "Chronicles of Narnia," including Mr. & Mrs. Beaver preparing for the holiday festivities, and even two spectacular Polar Bears."

The Enchanted Forest will reside in the lobby of Grand Sandestin beginning November 24. The display is staged around a truly captivating 10-foot gingerbread oak tree, home to character favorites like beavers, mice, polar bears, owls and rabbits. Many of the characters are busy preparing for their holiday celebrations fireside and others can be found ice skating on the frozen pond.  

Beginning the process months in advance, the Sandestin culinary team has invested more than 100 hours time into the Enchanted Forest Gingerbread House. Upon completion, the team will have used more than 250 pounds of gingerbread and 300 pounds of powdered sugar in the creation of the project.

Join in the merriment at Grand Sandestin with a free Cookie Decorating Class and Children's Story Telling with Mrs. Claus in December. 

• December 3, 10 and 17 - Join the Sandestin Pastry Team for cookie decorating in the Grand Sandestin Lobby from 3pm - 5pm each Friday afternoon.
• December 4, 11 and 18 - Cozy-up by the fire for Children's Story Telling with Mrs. Claus from 3pm - 5pm each Saturday afternoon.
• Ballyhoo Bar will offer adults coffee, tea, cookies and tea sandwiches for $10.
