Sandestin Provides Great Destination for Labor Day Holiday

DESTIN, FL, Aug. 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ - Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort announced free rounds of golf to active or retired members of the U.S. military with only the purchase of a golf cart fee this Labor Day Weekend, August 31- September 3 and a special free night offer.

Sandestin extends its gratitude further, with its participation in national Patriot Golf Day. "Members of the military are very important to us at Sandestin," says Rick Hileman, PGA Director of Golf Operations at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. "With several military bases in our own backyard and surrounding cities, we wanted to show our appreciation and give thanks for all that our military personnel do each and every day."

Sandestin was very fortunate and the impact of this week's weather and Hurricane Isaac were very minimal. Partly sunny skies are predicted today. All golf operations are open for business and excepting tee times.

Sandestin, along with golfers nationwide is calling patriots including guests and local residents to action by asking them to add $1 to their green fee or make another donation amount of their choice that will go directly to the Folds of Honor, a non-profit organization that provides post-secondary educational scholarships for the children and spouses of military men and women who were disabled or killed while serving our country. The Patriot Golf Day Campaign is jointly supported by The PGA of America and the United States Golf Association.

Military guests and family are invited to play all days on Sandestin's championship golf courses including Raven Golf Club, Baytowne Golf Club, and The Links Course. For the first time, members of the military can also take advantage of this special program at the exclusive Burnt Pine Golf Club between before 8 and after 1 p.m. The golf cart fee is $20 at each course.
