"If we breakdown the SAN switch market's $63M net revenue increase quarter-over-quarter, $33M came from growth in Fibre Channel switches and $30M from growth in FCoE switches. We continue to see strength in the Fibre Channel market," said Casey Quillin, Analyst at Dell'Oro Group. "We definitely had a couple of interesting things happen this quarter. We saw Brocade ship over 50K 16 Gbps Fibre Channel switch ports for a total of about $27M in calendar quarter revenues. We also saw Cisco's Fibre Channel switch revenues jump this quarter on the favorable increase of the ASPs of their Director Class switches," added Quillin.
The report discusses the outlook for market migration to 16 Gbps Fibre Channel, as well as analyzes how FCoE is being deployed.
