San Jose State University and Second Start Learning Disabilities Programs Collaborate on Special Education Training

SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 13  /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- San Jose State University and Second Start Learning Disabilities Programs Inc. have entered into a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) creating a collaborative agreement providing practical classroom training for future special education teachers.

The purpose of the project is to provide opportunities for students enrolled in the SJSU class, EDSE 218B, to observe and learn about Asperger's Syndrome and high functioning Autism and evidence-based educational strategies that have been successful.

Pine Hill School, Second Start's premiere Non Public Special Education School has received numerous commendations for its innovate programs for children on the high end of the Autism Spectrum and/or children with Asperger's syndrome.

Commendations included: NASET School of Excellence, International recognition by Australia's: "The Winston Churchill Memorial Trust," and Nevada' s Commission on Autistic Spectrum Disorders.

Second Start Learning Disabilities Programs Inc. is a 501c3 California Nonprofit organization. Second Start has been helping children in the San Jose /South Bay area, with disabilities for 38 years.
