San Jose Construction Workers Confront KT Urban Developer and Demand Middle Class Jobs for Veterans
Developer urged to sign "Pledge of Cooperation" to help military veterans transition from service to the work force
SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- On the eve of Veteran's Day, hundreds of local construction trade workers and U.S. military veterans will hold a rally honoring veterans and then confront developer KT Urban and urge the developer to hire veterans and pay them middle-class family sustainable wages.
As part of the rally, a delegation of a several dozen veterans will present a "Pledge of Cooperation" to KT Urban and Full Power, asking them to commit to hire local veterans, support apprenticeship programs and provide a community benefit as part of their projects. The pledge also urges the hiring of local contractors who utilize California's Joint Labor/Management Apprenticeship Program which provides a pathway for veterans to transition from military service into a good-paying, middle class job.
